Fishing

The Beaverkill River runs directly through Roscoe Campsite Park.  If you prefer fishing off-site, we can direct you to one of the many options.  The East and West branch of the Delaware River – along with the Willowemoc – are all within driving distance.  In addition , there are multiple mountain lakes and ponds in our area, along with feeder streams and tributaries to explore.

Another ideal location is at the Pepacton Reservoir, which spans roughly twenty miles long and averages about one-half mile wide. The reservoir is a 5,700 surface acres New York City owned water shed that provides the East Branch of the Delaware with its cool releases.

The Pepacton offers great trout fishing as the large brown trout that live here quickly grow to an average size of 5 pounds – with some up to 15 pounds!  Casting lures and bait from shore – or trolling from row boats – are the most effective methods for catching these giants. Small mouth and large mouth bass, perch, rock bass, black crappie and brown bullhead are also sought after by shore anglers.

Fly Fishing

Surrounded by the best trout fishing waters on the East Coast, it is not hard to see why Roscoe, dubbed, “Trout Town USA”, is considered the birth place of American Fly Fishing.  The Beaverkill, Willowemoc, East and West Branch of the Delaware rivers – along- with many small streams – make Roscoe the perfect hub for your Fly Fishing adventure.  Roscoe Campsite Park features acres of river frontage and world – class accommodations make it the perfect base camp for your adventure.  We offer fishing licenses in the Park General Store as well as RCP Outfitters in town.  As self – proclaimed “gear heads” we have all levels of equipment to rent.  We can also direct you to one of the many fly fishing guides and shops in our area.
